Addiction Research Development in Georgia (ARDG) Project
U.S. Agency for International Development (USAD) awarded the sum of $209,500 to local NGO – Alternative Georgia (AG), an Addiction Research Center to provide support for “Addiction Research Development in Georgia Project. The cooperative agreement was signed on July 25, 2014. The period of performance for this award is August 1, 2014 – July 31, 2016.
ARDG Project is implemented by AG in cooperation with the Institute of Addictology established in 2014 under the project “Introducing Addictology in Educational System of Georgia” funded by USAID and the Czech government through the Emerging Donors Challenge Fund mechanism, and Georgia Association of Addictologists (GAA). Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in June 2014 between the USAID and Czech Development Agency (CDA), USAID-funded ARDG project is coordinating its activities with the CDA-funded project being implemented by the Department of Addictology, Charles University in Prague. Collaboration among Georgian and Czech colleagues is aimed at supporting development of sustainable research capacity in the field of addictology in Georgia.
